Aashi and Niyati entered Abhinav's room to find him sitting with his laptop working on something.They quickly settled on the bed and then looked at him

"Bhaiya, bhabhi ki ek pic to dikha do" said Niyati expectantly and Aashi nodded curiously.

Abhinav looked at both of them for a second and then diverted his gaze back to the laptop and said "Thode dino baad aise hi mil lena pic dekh kar kya karoge?"

" To humse ab wait nahi ho raha na, hame bhi dekhna hai kon hai itni khooobsurat jinhe dekh kar aap bhi flat ho gye" said Aashi excited while Abhinav passed her a glare though a little smile made a way on his face too.

"Uski khoobsurti ek photo se Bayan nahi ki jaa sakti. Vaise bhi thode dino mai milna hi hai, ab ja kar padhai kar lo, mujhe bhi kaam karna hai" Said Abhinav dismissing the topic not wanting to share her picture with anyone.

Aashi and Niyati looked at each other grumpily but still exited his room as they knew he is busy.

The playground of the Phoenix high school was filled with melody as students sang the morning prayer, some students just lip synced while some sang remembering each word.

As the prayer finished, Aashi looked at the stage and smiled as Agastya came forward for organising the assembly. Soon the assembly concluded and Principal made her way to the centre of stage and took the Mike in her hands.

" Good Morning students. So as you all know we select the students from Class 12th for Head boy and Head Girl contenders by keeping in mind their overall performance in Class 11th. And the final result will be dependent on elections. So next week are going to be the elections for Head Boy and Head girl and the contenders are-" Spoke Principal.

"Agastya Bhaiya to honge hi" Niyati whispered in Aashi's ears to which Aashi nodded.

"For head boy we have Agastya Malhotra Kartik Agarwal and Avinash Mehta." All the students clapped while Aashi clapped the hardest.

"And for head girl we have Kashvi Oberoi, Janvi arora and Shashi Mewara" Concluded the Principal.

After the National Anthem students started dispersing to their classes.

As it was recess time Aashi was standing outside her classroom talking with Trisha but her gaze was fixed at Agastya who was talking to one of his classmate. As Agastya looked at their side, he smiled at both of them.

One of her classmate called Aashi, so she started to walk in her direction but her gaze was still fixed on Agastya due to which her undone shoelaces entangled with each other and she fell down with a THUD.

Trisha looked at her with her mouth open while Vani and Niyati who just entered the scene started laughing and an amused smile made its way on Agastya's face.

Agastya stepped forward and extended his hand towards Ashi suppressing his smile. Ashi accepted his hand looking down due to embarrassment.

As soon as they entered their classroom Vani,Niyati and Trisha burst out laughing at Ashi while she made an annoyed face.

"Yaha meri beizzati ho gayi aur tumlogo ko hassi aa rahi hai. Kya soch rahe honge Agastya mere baare mai." Spoke Aashi irritated.

"Yahi ki kya defective piece hai tu."Replied Niyati again bursting into Laughter with Trisha and Vani.

Aashi passed them a death glare.

"To kisne kaha tha Bhaiya ko aise taadne ko. Dekh kar chalna chaiye Tha na" scolded Trisha.

Suddenly the bell rang indicating the end of recess as all the students sat properly on their seats.

The Mehra House was buzzing with excitement, the air thick with the scent of sandalwood incense and freshly made sweets. Everyone seems to be in hurry like carrying trays of snacks, adjusting the velvet cushions and making sure everything looked perfect. The elders sat in the drawing room all ready to welcome Vidhi and her family.

Abhinav stood in front of his wardrobe, staring at the pile of clothes on his bed with sheer frustration. Shirts, kurtas, blazers-everything was out, yet nothing felt right. He huffed, running a hand through his hair, and muttered, "Yaar, kya pehnu?"

He picked up a navy-blue blazer, held it against himself in the mirror, then tossed it aside. "Ye bahut zyada formal ho jaayega, meeting mai thodi na jaana hai. "

Then he grabbed a maroon kurta. "Ye bhi acha nahi lag raha" He groaned. "Uff! Aaj hi fashion crisis hona tha kya!"

Just then, his room door creaked open, and Aashi and Niyati walked in. They took one look at the mess and burst out laughing.

"Aye bhaiya ,aap to aise tension le rahe ho jaise aaj hi mandap saj gaya ho!"exclaimed Niyati while Aashi laughed

Abhinav shot her an exasperated look. "Niyati, please! Tera mazak udane ka mood hai, toh kahin aur jaa. Main already tension mein hoon."

Niyati and Aashi smirked. "Haan, dikh raha hai. Fashion show chal raha hai yahaan." Aashi said and picked up a black kurta he had discarded earlier. "Yeh try kiya?"

"Arey, but black sahi lagega kya."

"Bhai, sirf families mil rahi hai. Aur bhabhi ko to vaise hi haan hi kehna hai" Said Niyati clearly amused seeing her always calm and composed brother in this state.

Abhinav's ears turned slightly pink, and he threw a pillow at her. "Chup kar, nautanki. Problem Vidhi ki nahi uski family ki hai. Unhe mai pasand nahi aaya to!"

Niyati caught the pillow, laughing. "Arre, bhaiya itni tension kyu le rahe ho.Aap Jo bhi pehno bhabhi aur unki family dono ko pasand aayega. Aap yai Blue shirt try karo. Vaise bhi aap par blue suit karta hai"

Abhinav looked at the blue shirt she held up. "Hmm... sahi lag raha hai."

"Of course, sahi lag raha hai. Maine suggest kiya hai!" Niyati winked. "Ab chalo, change kar lo. Warna mummy aa ke na lecture shuru kar degi-'Abhinav, ladki wale aa rahe hain, yeh kya haal bana rakha hai!'"

Abhinav groaned, shaking his head. "Uff! Theek hai, theek hai. Thank you,"

"Bas thank you se kaam nahi chalega. Hame bhi shaadi ke time ek accha gift chahiye." Aashi grinned while Niyati nodded.

Vidhi sat on the edge of her bed, nervously adjusting the dupatta of her light pink kurta set for the hundredth time. Her hands felt cold, her heart thumping a little too loudly. Stress was visible on her face.

"Shaadi hone se pehle hi itni tension le rahi ho, toh mandap pe behosh ho jaogi!" Vedant teased as he walked in, followed by Agastya and Vihaan.

"Haan phir shaadi cancel karni padegi" exclaimed Vihaan giving a high five to Vedant.

"Tum log bas karo ab. Mujhe vaise hi bahut dar lag raha hai. Uske parents ne mujhe reject kar diya to" said Vidhi nervously.

"To---- shaadi cancel. Aur kya?"Said Vihaan laughing along with Vedant while Agastya smiled.

Vidhi glared at them but also looked more nervous then ever. Agastya, who had been watching quietly, finally sighed and sat down next to her."Didi itna stress mat lo. Sab thik hi hoga.They will like you."

Vidhi finally took a deep breath and smiled at her brothers still nervous but better than before.

Aashi stood near the staircase, her fingers playing with the embroidered dupatta of her light green suit. She knew that her cousin Abhinav's marriage was being discussed tonight, and she was curious to meet the girl he had chosen.

The main doors opened, and the Malhotras stepped in. But her heart skipped a beat when she spotted Agastya along with Vedant and Vihaan.

"Agastya yaha kaise?"Aashi thought.

Just then her eyes fell on Abhinav who has just entered in the room and was looking intently at Vidhi with a huge smile and she connected the dots.

"Abhinav bhaiya ki girlfriend Vidhi Di hai, Agastya ki cousin." She whispered to Niyati who has just entered the scene adorning a lavender embroidered suit.

"Lag to aisa hi raha hai" Niyati whispered back.

Suddenly Agastya's eyes met hers and he looked as shocked as her. Vedant and Vihaan noticed them too.

Malhotras settled on the couches along with Aashi's father Prithvi, Niyati's father Karan and Abhinav.

Aashi and Niyati arrived with tea and snacks and stood on the side.

Soon elders started talking among themselves about various topics.

Vedant narrowed his eyes when he saw Abhinav looking at Vidhi intensely while she blushed under his gaze.

"Ye blush bhi karti hai" he whispered surprised to Vihaan who was sitting near him.

"Mai bhi shocked hoon Varna ghar pe to har samay Manjulika bani rehti hai" Vihaan spoke equally surprised with his elder sister's abnormal behaviour.

Vidhi who was sitting just near him and listened him whispering nudged him in his stomach while he groaned in pain.

"Chup kar jaao dono" said Vidhi in a threatening tone while a smile still adorned her face.

Soon elders bonded well with each other and also asked Vidhi and Abhinav about their work and hobbies. The main topic for the discussion arrived soon and both the families accepted the alliance with their heart open.

"Mai mithai leke aati hu"said Prerna, Abhinav's mother dispersing into the kitchen.

"Ab panditji se baat karke engagement ki date bhi decide karte hai " Said Vipul, Vihaan's father.

Hearing this Vidhi winked at Abhinav while he looked at her shocked and flustered.

Soon Malhotras departed to their house.
